Cake, Frosting, Cherry

When I am talking about the 70-20-10 Rule, I often use the more colourful metaphor of a cake.

  • 70% – Cake: This is the foundation. Without it, nothing else would be possible on top. By itself it is okay, but still lacking and unsatisfying.
  • 20% – Frosting: This is what makes a “cake” a delicacy to be savoured. You don’t have to have much of it to make a profound difference in the enjoyment.
  • 10% – Cherry/Sprinkles: These on top give it that extra allure and appeal.
