Calving: February, March April

In perhaps the most esoteric reference I have ever made in my 15 years of blogging and thousands of posts, this comes from an article in Farming Independent titled “Tips for selecting the right cows, bulls and calving date for your herd”:

· “What then is the ideal calving pattern? Broadly speaking the 70:20:10 rule applies here: 70pc calved in February, 20pc in March and 10pc in April (preferably early April).”
